New Era Cap’s Women’s Division Modernizes Historic Fashion Collection

EK by New Era Women’s Line adds Feminine Style to Original Brand

Las Vegas, NV (February 12, 2007) – New Era Cap Co., Inc., the premier global headwear designer, developer and manufacturer, will launch its Women’s EK by New Era headwear collection at MAGIC in Las Vegas, February 13-16, 2007.

This year, the company will show that their EK by New Era brand is not just for men, but for women as well with an extension of the original line. This line of products, like the men’s, will feature Gatsby, Newsboy and Military styles that honor New Era’s founder, Ehrhardt Koch, and the company’s roots in fashion caps during its founding years.

Designers have worked to rescale the proportions of the EK by New Era line so that it is a perfect fit for women. Also, these caps will feature more feminine fabrics such as wool plaids and angora, and colors such as rich berry tones and golds. To bring that personal statement and individual expression to the collection, the caps will be accented with feminine details like flowers, charms and velvet ribbons.

“We created the New Era Women’s line because we believe women deserve caps that are fit and styled just for them,” said Gina Valenti, lead designer for the New Era Women’s Division. “And in a society of mass production headwear, collections like our new Women’s EK line give women the opportunity to be unique and express themselves. We all know that trends come and go, so creating updated versions of timeless pieces that we see on the runways each year is key to keeping our brand fresh.”

In addition to the Women’s EK line, three additional non-licensed, lifestyle collections from the women’s division will be revealed at MAGIC including: our British Invasion Group, which takes cues from Old England and can best be described as romantic; an updated Military line using new color combinations, styles and prints help create a trendier feel; and a winter themed collection called Fresh Powder, where each piece is adorned with a snowflake simply paying contribute to a fun and chilly season.
